Wednesdays, 9 am to 1 pm

 

Session 3 - 10 weeks - February 20 to May 1, 2013

 

February 20 Arcadia - LA County Arboretum , 301 North Baldwin Ave  $5 fee or free with membership.* The pink Magnolia trees by the waterfall and the desert garden are in bloom.  New students meet the teacher at 9 am at the entrance to the Arboretum.  (Exit 210 fwy south on Baldwin Ave. Entrance is on west side of street.)

 

February 27 South Pas - Buster’s Coffee Shop and Gold Line Station, 1006 Mission Street  (Take Fair Oaks south.  At Mission turn west.  Go 3 blocks to the train tracks and Busters.)

  

March 6 Pasadena - Holliston Ave Methodist Church, 1305  E Colorado Blvd castle-like church  (Exit 210 fwy at Hill St. Go south to Colorado Blvd.  Turn west one block to the church at Holliston Ave.   PCC is nearby). 

 

March 13 Sierra Madre  - The Carter Barn,  lot 18,  Stonegate at Sierra Madre, 700 Baldwin Ct.  (Exit 210 fwy at Baldwin Ave.  Go north to the top.  At Carter Ave continue on Baldwin Court through the stone pillars up the hill to the white barn.  Park on the street.) 

 

March 20 Alhambra - Downtown Renaissance Plaza, 1 E Main Street, at the corner of Main and Garfield  Mosaic sculptures and fountains (On Huntington Drive at  the Los Robles/Atlantic/Garfield intersection, go south on Garfield Ave to Main St in Alhambra.  The Plaza is at the corner by the Edwards Theater.) 

 

March 27  Pasadena   -   Maranantha High School Campus,  169 S. Saint John Ave, view of the Ambassador Auditorium and bird sculpture  (Park in the parking lot on St. Johns Ave which is one way going south from Green Street on the west side of the freeway extension.  Meet at at the entrance to the main campus building. 

 

April 3           NO CLASS - MCAS closed for Spring Break Our class has permission to go to Arlington Gardens on this day to paint.  

 

April 10 Pasadena  -  Arlington Community Gardens,  274 Arlington Drive  Spring wild flowers (Exit 210 fwy south at California Blvd.  Go straight onto Pasadena Ave.  The gardens are at the corner of Arlington Dr. and Pasadena Ave.) 

 

April 17 Monrovia  -  Wildrose Historic District,  302 Wildrose Ave iris house (Exit 210 fwy at Myrtle Ave, go to Foothill Blvd, turn east. Go 3 blocks to Canyon Blvd, turn south one Block to Wildrose.  Iris house is  the yellow house at the corner.)

 

April 24   La Canada - Descanso Gardens,  1418  Descanso Drive  - rose garden in bloom - $5 fee or  free with membership*  (Exit 210 fwy at Foothill Blvd in La Canada.  Take Foothill north to Chevy Chase Drive,  turn left.  At Descanso Dr turn right.)

 

May 1 Arcadia  -  Painting in the Garden - Art Show and Sale,   244 West Naomi Ave.   Bring  friends, and family.  Enjoy refreshments and watch plein air painters at work. Show from 11am -1 pm.  (Exit 210 fwy at Baldwin Ave, going south,  At Duarte Rd, turn east.  At Holly Ave, turn south, and go  2 blocks to Naomi, turn east.)

 The next 10 week session begins in SEPTEMBER.

*If you sign up for a year membership to the Arboretum or Descanso, you can go many other reciprocal gardens.
