Family Learning

What is it?

The Parent & Family Learning Department is a new school district division within the Community Adult School devoted to serving the diverse learning needs of parents and other family caregivers living in Monrovia and surrounding communities.

Programs

Workshops and class series are offered under four main topic areas: 1) Navigating School Successfully, 2) Coping with Life’s Challenges, 3) School & Community Safety, 4) Enriching Family Life.

Where

The Monrovia Family Learning Center is located at 1000 S. Canyon Blvd., occupying the southern section of the Canyon Early Learning Center, right next door to the school district office, near Huntington Drive. In addition, classes, workshops, events and other services will also be offered at area school campuses and other community facilities.

Mission

Raising kids in today’s society and navigating the public school system can be a daunting task and, unfortunately, parenthood doesn’t come with a “how to” manual! It is our goal to provide a wide array of classes, workshops and programs to help all of our area families raise highly successful children who become self-reliant, productive adults.

Other Services

In addition to workshops and classes, the facility also contains a Family Resource & Volunteer Center which not only provides information on a wide range of available community services, but also encourages and facilitates citizens to become actively engaged in creating better schools, better communities, and a better future for our children.

How do I Register?

Our classes are listed in the Monrovia Community Adult School Brochure.  Registration can be accomplished online by clicking here or in person, at the adult campus, 920 S. Mountain Avenue, over the telephone at 471-3035.
