E S L / Computer Instruction
Learn English utilizing computer based programs. **CBET Program - if you currently have a K-12 student registered in Monrovia schools, you may qualify to attend this program free of charge. CBET students must register in person at the Monrovia Adult School office.

Level 1 Beginning Literacy
Learn to write and say the letters of the alphabet, numbers and basic words. Ask and answer questions about everyday life. This class will include individual, pair, and group work.

Level 1-2 E S L Beginning Low
Students develop Basic English communication through Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening skills for adult learners in their roles as family and community members, workers, and citizens. This class will include individual, pair, and group work.

Level 2-3 Beginning E S L
Students continue to develop beginning English Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills for adult learners in their roles as family and community members, workers, citizens and lifelong learners. This class will include individual, pair, and group work.

Level 3-4 E S L Beginning High
Students develop high beginning and low intermediate English communication through Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening skills for adult learners in their roles as family and community members, workers, and citizens. This class will include individual, pair, and group work.

Level 4 E S L Intermediate Low
Build your grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. Practice practical conversation in pairs and small groups.

Level 5 E S L Intermediate High
Learn to communicate comfortably in English. Build confidence in speaking and listening skills. Enhance your ability to read and write. Each class will include individual, paired, and group work.

Pronunciation And Accent Reduction - Levels 2-6
Improve your pronunciation for the workplace, school and community. The class will include the study and practice of vowels, consonants, stress, rhythm and intonation. Multi-level.

Pronunciation And Conversation Levels 2-6
In this class, students will build confidence in speaking about everyday topics, current news issues, and other topics of interest to the class. Students will have the opportunity to improve their fluency through individualized pronunciation practice.
